Manasa Centre for Cultural Studies (MCCS) was established as a unit of Manasa Trust, Shimoga, a private trust established by the late Dr. K.A.Ashok Pai in 1986. The Trust, managed by the Pai family, was founded with the objective of supporting and organizing educational, literary and cultural activities. It has very successfully offered distance education programmes in counseling in collaboration with Kuvempu University and is now offering some of these courses in collaboration with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. The Trust organises lectures, workshops, health camps, Nursing training programmes and a host of related activities to promote Mental Health Awareness.
